R.I.P., Richard Widmark

I just learned from Laughing Gravy that Richard Widmark has passed on at the age of 93, according to CNN.

Well, this day is already turning out to be a real pisser. I'll update this when I get more info.

Thanks for the links, doc...Pam sent me this one earlier

which I meant to put up, but I got distracted with something else. As usual, my Bombast...er, Comcast has a blurb, too:

I'm still having some trouble dealing with this news. Of my all-time favorite actors, Widmark was right up there at the top. He had that Kirk Douglas fearlessness about him that allowed him to play such delectable rat bastards.

Bombast! I love it. I need to get my DVR clean off and switch to The Dish. Comcast sucks at everything especially customer service.

On the plus side, Bob Elliott is 85 today.

Now stay tuned for another episode of Jack Headstrong, All-American American...

Thanks for the reminder re: Mr. Elliott's natal anniversary. It's odd--I watched my DVD-R copy of Cold Turkey (1971) last week and Bob & Ray's performances in that movie still put me on the floor...

"It's David Chetley!"
