That one's my second-favorite of the story they're currently running, after the best Shermy-centric strip ever.

It's clear that this story, along with some other commercialization-of-Christmas stories from the strip, was one of the big inspirations for "A Charlie Brown Christmas," but without the uplift at the end (the genius of the TV specials was the realization that the Peanuts world could actually be happy and heartwarming if you threw in a hopeful moment at the end of the half-hour).
