Sticking it to The Man (?)

I was surfing what the young people call “the Web” last night and noticed that DeepDiscount.com is having a sale on many of the DVDs available from the Warner Archive—some of their offerings going for close to 50% off. So here’s my question: would it be possible for individuals outside the U.S. to purchase some of these discs? I know that WBShop.com won’t ship to Canada but as far as I know DD doesn’t have those restrictions…

Shipping to the off-shore accounts?

Honestly, I have no dog in this fight. I just know a few people from The Great White North who have lamented the unavailability of the Archive library in their neck of the woods.

My interest was piqued until i went to their sight and saw that 1/2 price meant $15 at best; for a virtual 'legal' bootleg I think that's still expensive. There are about 20 titles i'd love to get my mitts on, and even my anti-archive feelings could be contorted a bit, but not at any price.
I am just a poor corrupted official, after all...

I'm pretty much the same way -- these titles were selling at TCM for 17.99, so when I saw that the lowest price was 14.95 I remarked: "Um...that's not fifty percent." (I was fairly certain--been a while since I was in school even though math wasn't my best subject.)

Not only is $15 steep for this format, but Deep Discount is out of stock on several titles. I put three in my cart only to find they're not presently available.

PS: Over at Amazon, they're selling the Criterion Blu-ray of Last Year at Marienbad for less than Deep Discount wants for a frill-free DVD-R of Doc Savage: Man of Bronze!

I just about hurt myself when I saw "Who Is Killing the Great Chefs of Europe" on that page. How long have I searched for a non-rental VHS copy of this film? Probably 10 years, maybe longer. And it's on the DVD! God bless the internet *waves tiny patriotic flag of choice*
