Just wanted to remind the vast readership (hoo boy) that the deadline for the Thrilling Days of Yesteryear Invaders Giveaway ends at midnight tonight (EDT)—all you have to do is send me an e-mail at igsjrotr(at)gmail(dot)com with “Invaders Giveaway” in the subject header and you could be chosen at random to receive a free set of the 1967-68 cult science fiction series…with the feature film Journey to the Far Side of the Sun (1969) and TV-movie The Norliss Tapes (1973) included as added bonuses.
I will stress again, however, that these episodes are not in manufactured-DVD pristine condition—I bought this set a good many years back (in 2007) before the show was officially released to DVD by CBS DVD-Paramount the following year. But, hey…the set is absolutely free (I’ll even spring for the postage) so what do you want for nothin’? Rubber biscuit?
Also, if any member of The Large Association of Movie Blogs is just happening to peruse this post (double hoo boy)—the deadline for submissions for tomorrow’s “Classic Chops” is 6pm EDT tonight. Good night, and have a pleasant tomorrow…
...I've just been handed a bulletin...Mark Evanier at newsfromme reports that Amazon.com is having a sale on the entire five-season run of the TV sitcom classic The Dick Van Dyke Show for...$74. (You might want to click on Mark's name and then click on the link at his post--that way put a few shekels in his pocket.) Day-amm, Gina...you can't beat that with a stick (that's better than the DVD Pacific price for the entire run of Checkmate [1960-62], which I thought was a steal at $40.31). Offer ends very soon, so act now!
