When we last looked in on the merry-go-round that is my life, I mentioned yesterday that the CharredHer people had managed to talk me into signing up for a year of Showtime after demonstrating that I would save some money on my monthly cable bill. Last night, I kind of ambled through the offerings on both Showtime on Demand and The Movie Channel on Demand to see if there was anything worth watching…I saw a movie or two that I hadn’t seen previously, and I made some mental notes to keep them in mind for a future look-see.
This morning, when I got out of the shower, toweled off and got dressed—I turned on the TV to where the actual Showtime channels start…and again, surfed through the material, which include all of the Showtime and The Movie Channel offerings. As it would happen, I went a bit too far and stumbled onto the Encore movie channel section and was surprised to see a promo for Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion (1997).
So if I get Encore…does this mean I get…Encore Westerns?
I won’t keep you in suspenders any longer—done, sold, Bob’s your uncle! There on the channel was the non-smiling visage of John Russell in a Lawman rerun. I know that this offers up a window into my admittedly pathetic existence, but this means I can look forward to seeing that classic TV oater…not to mention The Virginian, Cheyenne, Gunsmoke (the black & white hour-long shows), Have Gun—Will Travel, Cimarron Strip…and Laura’s Miscellaneous Musings faves Maverick and Bret Maverick.
You have no idea how happy this makes me. And I owe it all to clean living.
