Georgia congressman warns of Obama dictatorship

WASHINGTON (AP) - A Republican congressman from Georgia said Monday he fears that President-elect Obama will establish a Gestapo-like security force to impose a Marxist dictatorship.

"It may sound a bit crazy and off base, but the thing is, he's the one who proposed this national security force," Rep. Paul Broun said of Obama in an interview Monday with The Associated Press. "I'm just trying to bring attention to the fact that we may—may not, I hope not—but we may have a problem with that type of philosophy of radical socialism or Marxism."

"We can't be lulled into complacency," Broun said. "You have to remember that Adolf Hitler was elected in a democratic Germany. I'm not comparing him to Adolf Hitler. What I'm saying is there is the potential of going down that road." (italics mine)

Keith Olbermann did a “tease” for his “Worst Person in the World” segment on last night’s Countdown—and I didn’t even have to look up from a magazine I was sifting through to see who the winner was. My congressman, ladies and gentlemen—couldn’t ya just eat him up with a spoon? (Sheesh…)

Once again, Georgia leads the way.

Bill, you shouldn't write that sort of thing when I'm drinking grape juice. Hard on the keyboard, you know.

No sympathy here, have you ever checked out Alabama's delegation? I have been living in NYC for yonks but I still cringe.

I had a friend from South Carolina who used to trump everybody, though, with the simple two words "Strom Thurmond."
Now, however, I think Alaska pretty much will have the "embarrassing politician" category sewn up for a while.

You gotta love a classic, "I'm not saying... I'm just saying" line.

As line fillers go, it's right up there on my list with, "I'm not trying to sound racist, but..."
