I felt that James Stewart's character was terrific foreshadowing for the darker, more intense roles he played in VERTIGO (don't forget to check out The Lady Eve's A MONTH OF VERTIGO!) and Anthony Mann's Westerns, among others.

I enjoyed this review very much, fellas. If you're interested, I also wrote a review of AFTER THE THIN MAN in 2010. Mine doesn't have spoilers, but I hope you'll enjoy it anyway! :-)

http://doriantb.blogspot.com/2010/12/after-thin-man-ringing-in-new-year-and.htmlDorianTBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01357778472575080022noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7307577717655310918.post-70820360899441581812012-01-02T16:47:06.204-05:002012-01-02T16:47:06.204-05:00I watched THE THIN MAN on New Year's Eve and l...I watched THE THIN MAN on New Year's Eve and loved it even more than I remember. I guess I'd forgotten just how good it really is. I'm going to watch it several more times before it has to go back to the Big N.

In the meantime, I'm adding AFTER THE THIN MAN to my queue.

I'm not crazy about Stewart being the killer here, it is SO AGAINST TYPE. But what the heck, it's clever.

Thanks for a great review.Yvettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08919246184376538331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7307577717655310918.post-82640677037598060072012-01-02T12:20:09.013-05:002012-01-02T12:20:09.013-05:00I've only seen the first two installments of T...I've only seen the first two installments of The Thin Man series, but I think both are highly entertaining. I always enjoy listening to Nick and Nora's conversations...plus, there is always Asta as well.Kimberly J.M. Wilsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09078951928157843937noreply@blogger.com
