Well, my intentions of delving into Chapter 8 of the edge-of-your-seat Adventures of Sir Galahad yesterday were sidetracked yesterday to cataclysmic shifts in my sleep schedule. Friday night, I was having difficulty keeping my eyes open and so I went back to my room and lay down on the bed a little after eight…and woke up around . And that was pretty much it as far as sleeping for the rest of the night went; I ended up watching a few of the talking heads shows and working on a couple of e-mails for friends. Saturday morning I ran a few errands with mi madre, stopping by both our banks (we had deposits) and running by MacDonald’s for a milkshake. (We used up a tank of gas waiting behind stupid people at the bank drive-thrus, which irritated Mom to no end. Honest to my grandma, at one point she yelled: “Why do people have to aggravate me so?!!”)
So now I’m trying to tell myself I’m awake, and it’s not easy because Me-TV is showing an episode of Burke’s Law that was written by Harlan Ellison and features Telly Savalas sleeping on a bed of nails (!). If I can, I will try to get chapter 8 of Galahad finished today…if not, I’ll reschedule it for next Saturday. Pleasant dreams!
